Questions about the wall mounted clothes airer

How much washing fits on the wall mounted airer?

The 70 cm version has five rails and 3.5 m of drying line, the 100 cm version six rails and 6 m, and the 120 cm version seven rails and 8.4 m. Each rail holds up to 5 kg. With 120 cm you can hang a full machine load in one layer.

Can I use it in the bathroom or outdoors on the balcony?

Yes. The airer is made of steel and aluminium with a corrosion-resistant coating, so it suits a damp bathroom or a balcony just as well as the hallway or kitchen.

Which walls is it suitable for – plasterboard or tiles too?

A solid wall of brick, block or concrete is best. On plasterboard, screw into the stud or use cavity fixings suitable for your wall. Tiles are no problem if you pre-drill with a tile drill bit.

Can I fit the clothes airer without drilling?

No. It is fixed at four points with screws and wall plugs, both included – you only need a drill. That is what lets it safely hold up to 5 kg per rail, and fitting takes about half an hour.

Retractable or folding – what is the difference?

This airer is both: you pull it out 35, 50 or 60 cm from the wall to dry your washing, then fold it flat again. Folded, it sits just 2.8 cm from the wall.

2.8 cm against the wall

Space-saving clothes airer: folds flat to 2.8 cm

A standing rack owns its square metre all week. This one waits flat on the wall, comes out in about ten seconds when the machine finishes, and folds back before you sit down to eat.

Stainless steel and aluminium, made for a damp bathroom or a balcony as much as for the hallway.

Goes well with it: the collapsible laundry basket

Three lengths

Which length fits my wall – 70, 100 or 120 cm?

70 cm gives you five rails and 3.5 m of drying line. 100 cm gives six rails and 6 m. 120 cm gives seven rails and 8.4 m – enough for a full machine load in one layer.

Every length extends 35, 50 or 60 cm from the wall and carries up to 5 kg per rail.

Half an hour, once

Wall mounted airer fitting: everything in the box

Four sets of screws and plugs are included, together with a template and step-by-step instructions. You need a drill and a solid wall – masonry, concrete or a properly anchored stud.

After that it stays where it is, for the next few thousand loads.

Four colours

Clothes airer in white, cappuccino, anthracite or black

White and cappuccino disappear against a light wall. Anthracite and black hold their own against tiles and darker rooms.

The finish is powder-coated and rust-resistant – it is the same rack outside on the balcony as it is in the bathroom.
